Blue Serenity

This is my last card for the night. Trick or treating is quieting down some from the earlier rush. Have to tell you this little story. I had a single trick or treater, a little boy about 5, dressed in a Power Ranger suit and mask. After saying Trick or Treat, he said "I'm here to save the day!" I said, "just today or tomorrow too?" He thought a minute and said "Just today...." Too cute!

Anyway, this card is Night of Navy background on a metallic blue DCWV cardstock. The white is Whisper White and the image inked in Night of Navy ink is from the new SU set To You And Yours. I used four rhinestones in the corner and Icicle Stickles for snow. Happy Halloween!

The card that was the last post here was SOOOOOOOO ugly I had to delete it. I trimmed the card down and just simplified the whole thing. Too much was going on. Yuck! This image was on a post card from a local country store advertising their holiday open house. It was too pretty to trash so I trimmed it down to use. It's mounted on SU Real Red and Hunter Green with Candy Cane Stickles on the wreath. I like it much better now. Whew! If you saw the original....pretend you didn't.

Card Candy Rather Than Halloween Candy!!!

Forgot to give you some deets on these cards. I used SU Real Red paper and ink for the candy, Candy Cane, Icicles, and Crystal Stickles and Perfect Pearls and various papers from the scrap box. Enjoy!

Simple Blog Candy Card

Be sure to click on the photos to see them up close. Detail is pretty good!

Card Candy

Happy Friday and Happy Halloween to everyone in blogland. Don't eat too much candy and get a tummy ache. I worked for a few blissful hours this morning on this card candy. A large number of the pieces you see lying on my Score Pal drying because they have Stickles all over. One of the other groupings has gems and brads and the other picture just shows some of the larger ones. This is so much fun, so easy, and goes fast because you are only using one ink. Clean up is easy with the SU Stampin' Scrub and then you just punch out your stamped images and decorate as desired. Now I have a whole pile of completed candy to use on tags, cards, or scrapbook pages. I'll be posting a card using some of the shortly. Have a great weekend! November.....yikes!!!

Snow on the Horizon

They are calling for "snow showers" here today. I'm not ready for this yet, although I prefer cold to hot weather. This card is all in SU Whisper White. I used the Cuttlebug Snow embossing folder and the CB Snowflake Combo Die and Embossing folder. These new combo dies are really neat. You can cut out a snowflake or emboss a snowflake. I like things that give you more for your money. The sentiment is from Verve Visual's Winter Wonderland set and I added a pearl to the center. Simple and elegant......and chilly.

Blog Candy!

Go here for a great blog candy package! Check it out! Here's another great bunch to see as well. You could be the winner! Yet another great load of blog candy for you to win.

Monday Offering

The background CS for this is Handsome Hunter. The lighter green is from the scrap box. White is Whisper White. Stamps are Lovely As A Tree, an old favorite, and the sentiment is from the new set SU To You and Yours. I used the Martha Stewart Snowflake embossing punch and Stickles for snow. I cut a large nestabilities oval and used the "frame" left to sponge on the white oval. Then I stamped the trees, used the border punches and stickles. A little Mike's ribbon and the greeting punched with the oval punch. Have a great day!

Watercolored Christmas Card

This card's background is sort of a mint green metallic card stock from DCWV. I have no clue about the DP but the stamp is from Rubber Stampede called Holiday Heart. I used watercolor pencils and my SU Blender Pens then distressed the edges with TH Vintage Photo distress ink and popped it up on dimensionals. Have a great weekend y'all!

Enough Halloween---On To Christmas!

Hello everyone! Life has been getting in the way of cardmaking lately. You knew that, right? No excuses will be given. But here is a card I put together this morning from my scrap basket, so I can't give you much on the details of the cardstock or DP. But the greeting is from Inkadinkadoo's Christmas Silhouettes. The blue cardstock is punched with a MS Snowflake Embossing Border Punch and the glittered snowflake is also an MS punch. Some ribbon from Mike's. And that's all she wrote. Hopefully I'll be posting more regularly this week although we are having some kitchen remodeling done so who knows!

Last Hurrah in the Fall Garden

I took just a few pictures this morning of the few things still in bloom. The garden is getting ready to take a long nap. The most amazing thing are these new anemones I just purchased a month or so ago. They bloom in the fall, look somewhat like a daisy, but are just a great burst of color this time of the year. My mums are coming into bloom. And my apricot rose is bursting with buds. There's a few scabiosa still there and the mounded pink things are sedum. They go great with the anemones. Enjoy the pictures! Kind of a cloudy day today.

Stampin' Up!

I don't push Stampin' Up! on this blog very much but I am a demonstrator and a great believer in their products and the company itself. There are so many great specials running right now and I would invite anyone out there to view the catalog and contact me about having a catalogue workshop or if you're in my area, give me a heads up and I'd be glad to do a workshop for you. This is THE BEST time of the year for it and with the specials, the hostess and customers are definitely getting more for their stamping dollars. Also I'd like to start a 6-month club where each member commits to $25 each month. Each member has a month where they are the hostess and get all the benefits. It's a great way to build up your supplies for only $25 monthly. It's how I got started in this and eventually became a demo. Think about it!

Christmas Flip Book

First of all be sure to click on each page so you can see the detail up close and personal!
I have been working on this for about a week and a half off and on. I am very pleased with how it turned out. It's the basic flip book like I showed last week with my family pictures only I have filled it with Christmas goodies. There is still room to insert or paste in some photos or mementos of your own. I put several tags in each pocket. It's a feast for the eyes as every page is different. The cover features a distressed paper doily and punched edges using Fiskars punches and stickles and gems. There are stickers, christmas images from an old book I had, three dimensional items, metal snowflakes, a punched wreath with a sentiment inside and a bow, metal charms, cutouts, Fiskars' punched medallion, chipboard letters, stickles and more stickles (can you tell I love Stickles???, cuttlebugged tree, prima flowers, and more. Enjoy looking and if you have any questions about the pages, please email me and I'll be glad to help. These books are addictive! And this one will probably be for sale when I come up with a price. If anyone is interested, give me a holler. Thanks for stopping by!

Do the Hokey Pokey!

Here's one of those big ole wooden clothespins which I covered in paper and used this funny little saying layered on scalloped punches by Marvy. I think this would be a cute item to do in your kitchen colors to hold a recipe while you cook.

I had the background for this card sitting on my cutting table for weeks. Couldn't decide what to do with it. While cleaning up a little tonight, I just stamped this image and backed it with the same silver metallic cs as the larger backround. I had used the CB folder on the black and then rubbed the raised image with a gray pad. I think I definitely need a glitsy spider up in the center of the web. So use your imagination!

I don't know if the picture shows this card all that well. It's not my normal thing. Sort of a collaged holiday card but playing up the distressed, old and metallic elements. Edges are distressed with TH Vintage Photo ink and the whole thing is sprayed with Silver Glimmer Mist. I Versamarked the snowflake, then put it in Heat and Stick and then in a embossing powder called Holiday Wreath from Bmuse which is sort of a mix of metallics with green. The lace is actually a copper color and the dove is dressed up with copper Stickles. A few gems and she's done. Not sure if I like it or not. Could be one of those that goes in the waste can!! HA!

Upsy Daisy

I had cut the parchment paper background for another card and ended up not using it. So rather than waste it, I got out one of my favorite sets from the new catalogue....Upsy Daisy. This is such a versatile set and you can do so many techniques with it. I first stamped the main image with Lovely Lilac then overstamped it, slightly off from the first one, with Brilliant Blue. Then I mounted it on the parchment background which was corner punched with an EK Success punch. Then I added Photo corners BEHIND the corners in Lovely Lilac, subtle but effective. The card is not quite 5 x 5 as I had to crop down a regular A2 card to fit the parchment. A little ribbon.....done! Enjoy!

Friendship Card

While I had Punches Three out for the Christmas card below I decided to use one of the other stamps for a quick friend card. Same layout using Brilliant Blue, Very Vanilla, Ballet Blue and some Liquid Pearls. Quick and easy.

Pretty and Sweet Christmas Card

My daughter is always buying me sweet little card and scrapping items. Last year it was the little metal snowflake brads and I'm finally getting around to using them. The card is Old Olive, Ruby Red, and Very Vanilla. On the background I used two stamps. One is a very nice dollar stamp from Mike's and the other is the small snowflake from SU Snow Swirled. The focal image is from Punches Three which I stamped and then punched out with the square scallop punch. Simple and sweet!

Halloween Mojo!

This card was really fun. I CASED it from LW Designs blog and her cards are gorgeous! The background is SU's new in color Tangerine Tango stamped with the Sanded background stamp in Tangerine Tango. Then I stamped the strip of Perfect Plum with black trick or treater's from the Haunting Wheel. The main image was stamped on glossy paper using black Stazon ink for the tree. Then you cut a 3/4 circle out of sticky note paper or any paper and back the circle with Dotz. Use the 3/4 opening in the paper to stamp your moon in Summer Sun (I used a sponge for all this.) Then cover the moon when it's dry with your temporarily sticky circle while you stamp whatever background colors you want. I mounted the finished image on Kiwi Kiss then Basic Black. Stamped the sentiment in BB from House of Haunts and added the only non-SU item on the whole card--the little lime green wire squiggle. Hope you enjoy it!

Family (Sibling) Flip Album

I wanted to make one of the new flip albums I'm seeing everywhere. I love a challenge so I completed the album not knowing exactly what theme I would use when the construction itself was done. Here are the directions I used BTW: When I was done I decided to make it a tribute to my family and especially my siblings. My mother had 8 children. Her first child died a few days after birth and she went on to have seven more children, two of whom have passed away. That leaves five of us still living. On the inside of the front and back cover I put pictures of my grandparents (Mom's parents). Then I have a page for my mother which is a baby picture of her which I love. The rest are all pictures of my brothers and sisters. The two large pictures are of Rosemarie and Vincent who are gone now. Well, have a look and I hope you enjoy it.
