Two Posts: It's What You Do in the Pouring Rain

Well I can hardly even see out the window, it's coming down so hard.  Some areas of the garden have standing water and our pond is full.  So what is a crafter to do?  Make cards, that's what!  Here's the second post today with a cutie I just purchased.  She is called "Clare Ready for School."  The layer behind the Spellbinders die is a Core'dinations paper which I embossed with rulers from Sizzix and then sanded down to show the inner layer.  A really fun technique.  They actually have so many nice papers.....ones that match the Tim Holtz Distress line, a line called Black Magic, pastels, papers already embossed with textured backgrounds etc. So many possibilities.

I colored little Clare with Copics and one other time I used the little "eyelet" technique and someone asked how I did it.  Where there is the ruffle, I just used white craft paint and either a pin or tiny pointed tool to make dots where the eyelet would be.  Easy peasy. The sentiment is a Tim Holtz stamp on a Spellbinders Fancy Tags die.

Wish I could be this productive every day!  Be safe and dry!

Spring, floods, blood pressure and cards........

Hi out there!  Gosh tomorrow is MAY.  Can't believe it.  We are getting buckets of rain here and are under a flood watch.  But so many people are suffering from the terrible storms and tornadoes.  I can't fathom what it would be like to having everything you need one minute and the next it is all gone.  I just can't wrap my head around it.  Pray for those who are struggling under these circumstances.

On another note, I have a card to share.  This was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest by sylvia-anne-poppyspapercraftpatch.  What a mouthful! Her card was white and craft and I loved it.  So here is my version.  The papers are SU.  The flowers came from Michaels except I cut off the greenery and made my own leaves because theirs was a hideous shade of lime green.  Added a few little sprigs of berries? and a piece of lace from the $1.50 bin at Mike's.  I used a new (to me) product from Viva which is their Glass Effect Gel. Kind of like Stickles but clear!  Just used a few touches on the flourish.  The sentiment is also an SU stamp.

This was a banner day for me as my doctor's appointment today turned out fabulously.  Weight, cholesterol, blood sugar, thyroid and blood pressure was all good! YAY!!!  Here's hoping you stay well and enjoy a wonderful spring.  Get those flowers going..........
