Introducing Renaissance Man

Here's what I've been doing in the last week. Been wanting to tackle this doll for a long time. The pattern is called The Ancestor by Anne Hesse. What? You didn't know I made dolls??? Absolutely. Used to do lots of crafts shows and made little country type dolls but I love doing the artsy dolls as well. He's made mostly of suedecloth, upholstery rems and quilting cottons. The face is clay and of course you embellish the life out of him. Mine is "quiet" compared to some I've seen. I'm trying to decide on a name for him. Any suggestions? Enjoy!

I've been looking for the Fall 2008 issue of Cloth, Paper, Scissors Studio magazine. If anyone has it and would like to part with it, let me know. Thanks!

Rose Tag

This tag was a little project I did today. The background I learned on Wedy Vecchi's blog, Studio 409. It uses pigment inks and Perfect Pearls and the rose is, of course, a Tim Holtz rose. Leaves are a Sizzix die colored and distressed with Distress Inks. The stamps are all Tim Holtz as is the Secret key. I used Anna Griffin pigment ink for the swirl design at the bottom with Clear EP.
More snow in our forecast starting today. Stay warm and dry wherever you are!

Think Spring!

Last fall when I purchased this large stamp from Impression Obsession (one of my favorite companies) I knew there would come a winter day when I would need to use it. The day has come. There's more snow predicted here for Tuesday and we already have over 5 feet on the ground. My camera has been acting up and I don't feel these pictures are sharp enough or something but you have to go with what you've got so there's an overall view and there's a close up of the colored image. The papers were all Stampin' Up! except for the card itself. It was from a package of texured blank cards I purchased. Ribbon is SU. Butterfly punch is MS. Flowers are Sizzix and Prima and I used Distressed Stickles on the flowers with a large metallic brad. I colored the image with Copics and the sentiment is from SU Wings of Friendship and done with Nestabilites Frames Four. The edges of EVERYTHING were distressed with Vintage Photo and Mustard Seed by Tim Holtz. Hope it makes you feel like spring!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Just a few images for you from my files and a wish for a very happy and loving day!

Come Sit With Me.....

Here's a pic inside my screened deck. I thought the snow on the rockers which has blown through the screens was kind of neat! Interstates have shut down in MD and PA, only emergency vehicles on the road in Baltimore, and white out conditions exist. Mother Nature is in a really BAD mood!

ENOUGH!!!!

The snow god has smiled on us again and we are in the middle of blizzard conditions here in northeastern Maryland. Been snowing since 4 yesterday afternoon and is not supposed to stop until this evening when we should have an ADDITIONAL 20 inches on the ground.

Lookie!

Here you go. The first two were taken from my front door. That's a huge drift in the front yard and my moron neighbor's truck parked in front of my house. The county emergency center asked everyone to take their vehicles off the street. He moved his from in front of his house to in front of my house and he's not even supposed to have a commercial vehicle on the street. I went out last night and asked him to move it and of course he ignored me. We have a thing going, can you tell? The other two pics are of the area I shoveled off the deck for the dog and the back yard. You can hardly see my garden bench. And there's not much drifting back here. What a mess!

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, PLEASE Let It STOP!!!

I am smack dab in the middle of the worst storm the Mid Atlantic region has seen in many a year. I love how they compare it to 1902, 1958, 1966 and 1992. Who cares, there's two feet on the ground now and it's not supposed to stop until sometime during the night tonight!!! Nothing is moving. Best part is it's so quiet.....shhh. Not even the sound of a plow yet.....BUT the doggies had to get out. I made the Boston Terrier make do with doing his thing on the brick patio. He wasn't happy but he did a good job. I also have my daughter's pug here, it her birthday today, but she is paper trained, thank heaven. Kathy, my daughter, works in a hospital in Delaware and went there last night to spend the night because she's working all weekend in Pediatric Cardiology. She's caring for a 3 month old with an open chest, waiting for a heart transplant. So I dug this little tunnel out off the deck. Other than that we are all socked in tight. Pictures to follow!!

Sweet Valentine

This is a little valentine I cut my with Cricut Wild Card Cartridge. The envelope has a scalloped flap in the same pattern as the card. I use SU paper, some primas and my Spellbinders along with pearls, twill tape and a vintage image on the inside. Enjoy!
