Thought I was done....but here's another quickie!
Spring Pennant Banner
Well this is the "biggie" I have been working on. Haven't felt much like doing things since the funeral but I knew I had to make the effort. And what an effort it was! I really enjoyed this project. Many materials were used but I'll try to give you most of them. Of course, this uses the Big Shot Pennant Die. I was hesitant to buy this at first but I know I'll use it now again and again for different holidays. I love the way it turned out plus there are actual pennants where the triangle faces sideways, cards and pouches to make with this die. The background triangle is SU Certainly Celery. Then the DP is SU Delicate Dots from the SAB catty and Bella Rose in addition to some older discontinued papers from SU. The cutouts of the bunnies, chicks, and flowers were heaven sent. They were off of 4 vintage style cards I bought at Mike's $1 bin. I have tried to purchase more because they are so nice but so far all the other Mike's I've been to here are out of them. The vintage print of the lady in her Easter bonnet I got in some blog candy I won. Beneath her I used the new SU Flower Burst Embosslit die for the Big Shot. The top one is the actual size. The other two I cut down with the Pinked Edge Nesties (I thought that was a clever idea!) They were shaded with Rose Red Ink. The panel that has SPRING on it uses the Big Shot Flower Layers die which was cut multiple times from 3 shades of pink, edged with Rose Red and layered with a brad in the center. Both of those panels use the SU Little Leaves Sizzlit die. The letters were K&Co. The sunflower panel features the front of an actual seed packet by Marjolean Bastin. I used the SU scallop edge punch and Julie Buhler's directions on her blog, Paper Pleasing Ideas, to make the frame. The punched flower is the Bigz Flower, Daisies 2 die, edged with different inks for dimension. The leaves are from SU Playful Petals stamped in Hunter Green on Old Olive CS. Stickles were used around the scallop of the frame. The pearl brads at the bottom are from the bridal section in Mike's. Be sure to click on the pictures for a larger view. If you have any questions, feel free to drop me an email. If you'd like to try your hand at
these, I'd be glad to help you with a Stampin' Up! order for any of the Big Shot products or other supplies. It's a fun machine! Have a great weekend everyone!

A Thank You

Using some leftovers from the card below I made this thank you. I have soooo many to make and send. Folks have been so very kind to us during the last three months. I used the same papers and inks as below but used the SU Playful Petals new set and SU Sweet Little Sentiments which is a Hostess Set you can earn for a $150 dollar workshop. It has wonderful sayings and I don't have enough sentiment stamps! Everything is popped up on dimensionals.
Thoughts and Prayers
I CASED this card from cardcrazy on SCS. Changed things up a little but basically it's the same. This wonderful tree is from the new Thoughts and Prayers set that SU cannot keep in stock! The Designer Paper is To The Nines and I didn't think the new DP would be worth the extra cost but let me tell you this paper is worth every penny. Very heavy, textured. Would be great for three dimensional projects. Colors are Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Sage Shadow and Whisper White with Sage Shadow ribbon. The sentiment is one of several wonderful ones from the same set as the tree. Gotta get your hands on this one. I know I'll use it over and over. I used my Nesties for the circles and the medium oval SU punch for the sentiment.

Rest In Peace
After and long and hard fought battle my brother went home to be with God early this morning. I want to thank all of you who have been so kind and all those who have offered your thoughts and prayers in the last 3 months. It means more than I can say.

Vintage Valentine
I won an issue of Somerset Life as blog candy and enclosed with the issue were some wonderful goodies. The image and the lace were part of the package. I used SU Kraft cs and Basic Grey DP, SU Choc Chip ribbon, the vintage lace, a bit of wide satin ribbon with a flower, wedding brad and hat pin. The brad and pins came from Michael's. I distressed everything with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink.

I'm In The Mood For Spring........
I cased this card from Julie Buehler on her blog Paper Pleasing Ideas. Thanks for the inspiration Julie! One of the things I did differently was to smudge the edges of the flower petals with ink. The three pinks used were Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose. The sentiment from SU So Many Sayings was stamped in Basic Grey. The leaf punches were Martha Stewart and Punch Bunch. The flowers themselves are a Sixxiz Die called Flower Layers. SU sells it in their catalogue. Use several shades of colors to get more depth to your flowers and any basic leaf could be used. Small yellow brads were used on the centers. Sorry I've been so lax in posting. My brother is dealing with pneumonia right now and things are not good. It's very depressing and I have to work hard not to get myself down. He's in God's hands.
