Here's the last bunch for now:

The cost of the valentine mini is $20.

This little heart mini which is spiral bound is made from a die and the box is actually part of the mini.  The picture with the beige rose is the box and the one that shows the teal rose is the front page of the mini.  There aren't too many embellishments on the pages but lots of little pockets and pages for pictures or mementos.  A great gift!  The cost of this one is $20.

The butterfly mini is kind of a play on happy words.  The cost is $15.
This is little suitcase from the Sizzix suitcase die.  Inside are several tags devoted to Tim Holtz.  It actually buckles closed.  Cost is $15.

OK here's a few pictures of my little treasures.  I tried to take the cover and one spread on each.

The price on the fall one is $15.

The price on the tea pot mini is $20.

Minis for Sale!

I have so many finished projects taking up space in my studio and so many more I want to make that I've decided to sell a few of the early ones.  I can't describe each one in detail....no time...but most of them were featured on my blog at some point.  They're all in great shape and I've priced them inexpensively.  I'll get as many pictures on as I can!  Just email if you are interested!

Spooky Couture

You can be fashionable for Halloween, right?  If  you try the ballroom slipper die by Brenda Walton for Sizzix you will be!  This was so much easier to put together than I thought it would be.  If you try it, I recommend the video by Brenda on the Sizzix website.  It really is very easy and there are so many styles you can make this in including a peep toe shoe and a lower front more modern style shoe and the one shown.  You can also leave the heel off and make a flat slipper!    But how you decorate it is the fun part.  I used a Recollections sticker on the top.  You can use crepe paper ruffles, flowers, jewels, dimensional items etc.  Have fun with it!

I Jumped Into Mixed Media............and I Like It!

You are probably familiar with the wonderful artist, Anna Dabrowska, known  as Finnabair.  She is from Poland I believe and has turned the art world upside down.  Her scrapbook pages and mixed media pieces are to die for.  She has her own line of supplies from Prima.  So she has inspired me and Angela Holt of Angela Holt Designs on You Tube showed me it could be done.  I watched Angela's  videos a lot of times.....a lot.  And today I jumped in with both feet.  Here's what I did.

Michaels had a wonderful sale on 12 x 12 canvases.  A dozen of them for less than $15.  Now I don't know about quality but to me they seemed fine.  I gessoed the whole thing and then painted the background with black acrylic paint.  Then using Claudine Hellmuth's Multi Medium Matte I collaged on a bunch of random papers.  On top of that I used two stencils with texture paste and laid on some scrim or cheese cloth using the Multi medium.  Then I used about five sprays to color the background over all that.  I had found an image to use, enlarged it, printed it, cut it out and ran it through my Xyron then adhered it to cardstock.  I cut it out and hot glued it to the canvas.  Then with the glue gun I began to lay down chipboard, laces, metal pieces, flowers of all kind (color doesn't matter because you will cover them up), crystals, buttons, some Tim Holtz pieces, pearls, and jewelry findings I found on sale in Michaels.  I collect this kind of stuff all the time so I had a good amount in my stash to work with.

When your piece is all ready then, you use an old brush and cover the whole thing with white gesso, getting in all the nooks and crannies.  When dry you spray, using the same colors you used on the background.  So many color possibilities are possible!  One of the sprays I used was a gold metallic to kind of unify everything.

Note:  the lady in the picture is Billy Burke who was the wife of Florence Ziegfeld but you might know her better as the Good Witch of the North from Wizard of Oz!  Enjoy!

Yup! It's Coming..............

I know it's still a few months off but I couldn't help myself.  I was trying out some new black cardstock to check for cracking when it is folded and this Bazzil did very well.  Embellishments are by Recollections and G45.
