Something Different For Me

You'll have to click on these to enlarge them to really see up close but I did these two today and really enjoyed it. I used glossy white cardstock, dribbled on several Tim Holtz inks (different color families on each one obviously) and the mixative. You get such random results and each time is different. Then after drying well, I stamped each with a large background stamp with black Stazon. The blue/purple one was matted then mounted on cardstock and the orange one was just mounted on Really Rust cardstock. These would make great gifts in a set of four or six in a little gifty box. Love all the Tim Holtz products.

Feeling Patriotic!

I felt like working in patriotic colors last evening. I cased the idea for this little pocket with funky fold card from Maria Bell on one of her blogs. The "envelope" is a simple pocket made from 12 x 12 cardstock and then the funky fold card is from Stampington. You have to enlarge their template on your computer. Makes a really neat presentation. I think I want to do more of these. I used the scallop punch, circle punch and large star punch for the embellishments and a little Stickles on the front for bling! If you click on the picture to enlarge it you can clearly see the Stickles. Love that stuff! Have a great day everyone!

Just had to post this picture.....

Just had to post this picture of our oldest grand-dog, Maggie. She is ten now and getting very grey. She belongs to my oldest daughter, Kathy, who is a PICU nurse. I get to watch her three days a week. Am I lucky or what!!!!

Blog Candy!!! Yay!

Hi everyone.....sorry I have been so busy that I haven't had time to post and my readership has been increasing all the time so I wanted to make it up to you by offering some blog candy! No special reason.....just thanks to my readers! I'm including three little SU border stamps, a packet of coordinated papers and embellishments I got in the mail from a publisher, and four of the neat little K&Co. boxes shown in an earlier post. I have so many I thought I would share. I will also add some die cuts and paper embellishments to the pot. Just leave a comment and let me know more of what you would like to see. I still consider myself a newbie at this blogging thing so I'm interested in what my readers enjoy the most. I will draw a winner on Sunday night, June 1. USA residents only at this time. Good luck!

More K&Co. Boxes

I finished the rest of the little boxes from K&Co. These were so much fun to put together and I only had a problem with one style box (not pictured). These come in a pad called Paper Boxes. They were available at AC Moore and Michaels at one time. AC Moore still has them. You get two of each style and all you do is punch them out and decorate. They give you plenty of paper embellishments but I added a little ribbon, Stickles, buttons etc here and there. Give it a try.

Sweet Little Boxes

I apologize for the picture quality. For some reason I could not get this clear! These are little boxes from K&Co. I had been eyeing up this pad of their boxes for a long time and finally took the plunge with a help of a 50% off coupon. 40 boxes for $7.50. Not bad! All you have to do is punch them out, a little tape or glue here and there and embellish with what they give you or add some of your own. Very sweet for small gifts for a special friend or someone! Hey, it's cheating, but once in awhile that's OK!

The Fruits of a Rainy Saturday!!!

Between loads of laundry on this rainy saturday afternoon while I was watching thousands of pink petals from our dogwood trees blow to the ground, covering it with a pink blanket, I did some stamping and cardmaking. Here and below are the results.
This is the tote from Running with Scissors which I have made several times before. This time I used Perfect Plum and Lavender Lace SU cardstock and a scrap of non SU DP for the trim. The cards were purchased and decorated (see post below). This is such a fun project and the more you make the easier it gets.
Happy Mother's Day tomorrow to all you moms out there. Kick back, relax, and enjoy your special day!

There are four of these little "So Sweet" cards in the tote. The cards and envelopes were something I picked up for a dollar a pack at JoAnn's one time. The scalloped background, stamp and ribbon are SU Perfect Plum. This makes such a nice gift.

I just got the All Holidays stamp set which I have been wanting for "forever!" I bought it specifically because I love this sentiment. I distressed it a little and added a flower from the Afternoon Tea paper on a scalloped circle. LOVE this paper.

Another scrappy card from left over pieces using the 5 petal punch and the Boho Blossoms punch with scraps of Soft Sky and Afternoon Tea. Love the flower punches!

Here's a little card with some Chocolate chip and Soft Sky pieces and a little Afternoon Tea DP left over from another project. Simple but effective.

Time Well Spent

I cased this card from GetFuzzyFan on SCS. It uses the Level3 Hostess Set from SU called Time Well Spent. This is a wonderful set and there are so many things you can do with it. I colord it with several SU greens and added a little "bling" in the way of Stickles here and there. Several of the flowers and butterfly are on dimensionals. Not a card you'd want to make a dozen of but if you enjoy coloring, this was fun to do with the chalks and blender pens.

It Just Makes My Heart Sing!

If only it would last all season! This is the shady side of the house. Azalea, sweet woodruff, lamium and heuchera. And the large shrubs in the rear are my rhododendrons which will bloom about a month from now.

Make A List!

Took myself off to Staples and bought some notepads, had them cut in thirds, then used the directions from Chick n Scratch to make the fancy little note pads. I used the butterfly, stamped twice, from Pricelss and Night of Navy ink and paper. One pre-caution: Don't buy legal legth pads because even 12" paper is not long enough to do this. Ask me how I know that!
Would also like to thank Renee from Renee's Rubber Stampin Ramblings (see a link to her blog on my Blogs I View list) for her very kind complements on my yard and landscaping. I won a May basket from her and can't wait to get it. I won twice because of her remarks! Check out her blog. She has great paper creations there.

A Promise!

This is another view of the dogs, pond, and the yard beyond showing one of the three pink dogwoods we have and the corner of my much loved and used screened porch. As the pond grows up some, I'll post more photos. Thanks for looking and next time will be paper and stamp projects......I promise!

Another view of the yard! Things are just beginning to really take off!

Here are Oliver and Samson, on the left, both attempting to see what those wiggly little creatures are all about!

While I was absent from blogging, this is what I've been doing. Digging a new pond was backbreaking but now that it's done, I'm glad. We need the surrounding grasses to grow a little and we need to add more plants in the pond but everything turned out really well. Even Oliver, one of our Boston Terriers approves. I've never seen the dogs so curious over something!

In My Absence........
