Out of Touch

I apologize that it has been so long since I posted.  Life just gets in the way.  We had a sudden unexpected death in the family of my brother-in-law, we are painting the family room and kitchen, I have begun to really feel arthritis in my joints which has slowed me down.  If anybody has a good remedy for that, please let me know.  I'm just taking over the counter anti inflammatories and using a heating pad at night but it's certainly not a long term solution.

Haven't done anything creative since the sewing piece I showed you last.  Dear, dear but I miss it.  I just seem to spend an eternal amount of time cleaning up construction and painting messes!  Boring!
Hope to get back to something soon........it's killing me.

Take care and stay warm.  Be in touch again soon......I hope!

My Favorite......Graphic 45

Blogger's being cranky these days about uploading images from your computer.  I hope this works.  I had to switch from the normal procedure to HTML to upload.  Hopefully this is only temporary.

Some of you may remember the piece I did a couple years back based on the Once Upon A Sprintime paper from G45.  My inspiration was Lynette Carroll, who uses this format all the time.  This time I did this framed piece for my sewing room using mostly A Ladies Diary and lots of charms and embellishments.  Click to enlarge the pictures so you can see all the detail.  Enjoy!

The Final Shots

Our friend arrived yesterday to put all the hardware on.  What a difference and what a help.  A little thing like knobs......imagine.  We changed the pantry door hardware from shiny brass to the oil rubbed bronze and the handles are very simple knobs in the same finish.  And the final picture is a shot of all of it.  All we have to do now is paint. Hurray!!!

And just a few more.....

These are just a few last photos.  Remember I told you about watching the pantry doors?  Well we covered them with the same beadboard we  used under the cabinets.  Changed the shiny brass hinges for the antique oiled bronze ones. The pineapple bowl has a few of my resin gingerbread men and the orange pomanders I just made this year.  Fake oranges from Michaels studded with real whole cloves in a bowl of greens.  Hate to put this away. And finally my grandmother's Tiffany lamp.  My mom also used it for years.  I remember eating many a meal under at our dining room table growing up.  When my mom passed away, my oldest sister took  it and she moved to a retirement condo and gave it to me.  Just a piece of history.

Hope you like the kitchen too.  All that's left to do is paint it and the family room and this project will be history!  Hope everyone has a healthy and blessed New Year.
