Two Posts: It's What You Do in the Pouring Rain

Well I can hardly even see out the window, it's coming down so hard.  Some areas of the garden have standing water and our pond is full.  So what is a crafter to do?  Make cards, that's what!  Here's the second post today with a cutie I just purchased.  She is called "Clare Ready for School."  The layer behind the Spellbinders die is a Core'dinations paper which I embossed with rulers from Sizzix and then sanded down to show the inner layer.  A really fun technique.  They actually have so many nice papers.....ones that match the Tim Holtz Distress line, a line called Black Magic, pastels, papers already embossed with textured backgrounds etc. So many possibilities.

I colored little Clare with Copics and one other time I used the little "eyelet" technique and someone asked how I did it.  Where there is the ruffle, I just used white craft paint and either a pin or tiny pointed tool to make dots where the eyelet would be.  Easy peasy. The sentiment is a Tim Holtz stamp on a Spellbinders Fancy Tags die.

Wish I could be this productive every day!  Be safe and dry!

Cute stamp...love her hair and the way you did her dress and the coloring on her face. You are GOOD! How far is where you are in MD to where I might be in DE. Maybe tutoring can be arranged???? 😉
The eyelet technique is a great tip. Thanks Mary!
