Summer is Here!

Summer time is in full swing and I have two Prima tags to celebrate!  The first shows one of our Prima dolls in her garden.  Her dress is an old SU paper and THE TRIM IS JUST DOTS OF WHITE PAINT TO MIMIC LACE. The large flower is Recollections in a pot from Papertrey Ink.  All the stentiments including the ones on the tags are PTI.  The seed packets are an old K&Co. line along with the bee in the upper right corner. I THINK THE BEST TIP I LEARNED DOING THESE DOLLS IS THIS.  I AM NOT GOOD WITH AN EXACTO KNIFE.  WHEN CUTTING OUT THE DOLLS I JUST CONTINUE TO CUT BETWEEN THE FEET, OR LEGS, OR BETWEEN THE ARMS AND BODY. THEN YOU CONTINUE TO CUT OUT THOSE LITTLE AREAS WHICH ARE HARD OTHERWISE.  WHEN YOU PLACE YOUR DOLL DOWN, JUST USE A LITTLE GLUE OR SMALL DIMENSIONAL ACROSS THE JOIN.  YOU'LL NEVER NOTICE IT ON THE FINISHED TAG.  NO MORE FUSSY CUTTING OF INSIDE PARTS.

My second tag has a picnic theme.  NOTE: THIS DOLL IS THE EASIEST OF ALL TO CUT OUT.  If you're just starting with these stamps, she'd be a good one to start with.  Her dress and background paper are from Alphabet Junction by Carta Bells, the 6 x 6 pad.  Cupcakes and sentiment were from a pack of stickers I picked up in Michaels dollar bin (now the $1.50 bin!) a long time ago.  The little lunch box is a Lockhart stamp.  Whenever you order from Ellen Hutson, she send a little colored stamp image as a thank you along with a yard of ribbon.  I save those images to use on other projects.  A little bling of a butterfly perches in the top left of the tag.

Jump on over to see Lisa to see more great projects with those wonderful stamps.  Don't forget to leave a comment, become a Follower, or comment about our hop on your blog.  Each of those will win you a chance at winning my blog candy (shown in the first post).  And be sure not to miss next Tuesday when we roll out all the stops for FALL!  Some great projects for my favorite season!

Mary, your tags are just wonderful! Such fabulous details on both, I can't wait to check them out with a fine tooth comb! Mr. Xacto knife is not my friend. Everytime he comes out, blood is drawn, and to think I once worked in a framing shop and cut large 24X36" sheets of glass! I am so proud to be sharing my projects with such great paper artists like you!

I love your tip for cutting out the spaces between the legs---I have been using that tip too as I am also exacto-knife challenged. Love your garden and picnic themes for summer.

WOW! I LOVE both tags Mary! I just adore the garden tag with all the seed packets (I have those ... guess what I'm doing later today! LOL ... yep ... casing your tag!)
And your second tag is equally ADORABLE!! Awesome job and thanks for inspiration on making the tags ... something I don't do a lot of!
AND ... I know what you mean about the Exacto knife but I did find I can use the Fiskars 'swivel' knife very well ... use it ALL THE TIME!
Have a great day and thanks for wonderful inspiration!

Oh Mary, I knew you'd bowl me over with your projects! I chuckled when I saw the garden girl tag...I have those same embellishments for K&Co but never though to use them in my project...love the flower and pot and all of your details. Thanks you for the tip about the legs/arms...I will try that next time. Your ruffled girl picnic tags is adorable, too. She was my first stamp and a good one to start with.
Hopping on...

Oh wow, both of your tags are stunning!! I love how you colored this skin...I wish I could do that!! The details are just fabulous - I love the picnic theme!! And I never thought about just cutting out the inside pieces...I end up struggling with my Xacto every time. You have saved me so much time and frustration!! Looking forward to your fall projects!! Happy Tuesday :)

Wonderful! These tags are so bright and beautiful, just beaming with the summer sunshine and lovely accented pieces! Gorgeous work ~ thank you for the tip that the one little dollie is the easiest to cutout. I haven't caved to purchase these, tempation rising, and wondered which would be the easiest to a novice like me - thank you!

I love the invitation. You guys rock. I love both tags but most of all thanks for the tips on cutting out. The exacto knife does not like me so your tip is just what I needed. These stamps are so much fun. You are so talented. I also save Ellen's Thank you cards and use the image.
