Prickley Pear

The cards you see posted here are the ones I made for the Prickley Pear Design Team which have not yet been published on their blog.  I am off the team which was my decision and I won't bore you with the reasons why....even the owner didn't want to know why I quit.  I guess that tells you something.  Anyway, enjoy the cards!

Prickley Pear Monday

Is this a wonderful die or what!  Prickley Pear has done it again.  This Halloween Gate die is just fabulous.  Paired with the Silent Phantom sentiment makes it ready for the big H!  I used a corner punch on the outside corners and some Stickles on the fold side.  The gate is cut from Martha Stewart glittered cardstock and the sentiment is embossed with detail white ep.  Have a great time this week!

Sweet Kingston...........

Just had to show off the little one year old lab/retriever mix my daughter just adopted from a shelter in Caroline County MD.  He was turned in as a stray, they think about one year old and still has plenty of "puppy" in him.  He's very good on a leash and they just love him to death.  His name is Kingston!

A Question??

I have been working on yet another clean out of my craft room and got to wondering how most of you store your stamps.  I store mine, both rubber and clear in cd cases.  I had been then storing them in boxes by company.  Now I'm thinking by theme would be better and I would like to put ALL sentiments and sayings together so there's no sifting through many sets to find an appropriate sentiment.  I was thinking of Halloween, Christmas, Spring and Easter, Florals, Backgrounds, etc.....you get the idea and all the sentiments from those sets in one big container or drawer.  Anyone like to weight in on this?  I'd appreciate your input.

More Prickly Pear Designs

Here's two more cards I did for Prickley Pear.  The first was done with an embossed spider web which was colored with Silver Stickles and the image is a really cute one called Midnight Choir.  The background was colored with Copics smudged with a sponge.

The next card is also on black cs with a beautiful English Tea Party doily from Cheery Lynn Designs. I used just half of the doily, a little tag in my stash, and the beautiful image from PP called Witch on a Pumpkin.  This is a very vintage looking stamp which was great fun to color with Copics.  I added a few leaves and a scroll to finish up.

Be sure to check out the Prickly Pear blog and store.  There's new stamps coming soon and we have so many wonderful Christmas images to help with your holiday cardmaking!  Enjoy!

Prickley Pear Halloween Tag

Posting today another creation for Prickley Pear stamps.  This time I used a manila tag sprayed with Dylusions Inks then stamped Homer the Raven inside the Spiderweb ATC from PP.  A few strips of washi tape, a sheer bow and a glittering star finish this off.

Creative Chemistry 102

I'm ashamed to have been so negligent with my blog lately.  I have even thought of opting out of the whole thing.  But I'm still hanging in there even though lately my life has been crazy.  Along with everything else, I took Tim Holtz Creative Chemistry class last week.  These pictures are the technique tags from Day 1.  I'll be lucky if I even get to day 2!  My favorite is the riveted looking metal tag.  That technique is soooo cool and very easy.  I could see that done again with the metal sheets and a christmas tree embossing folder.  This has been a fun class and I'm sorry it's over.  It was well worth the cost as I learned so much.  Most of the products I already had so that was a plus.  Tim's products made mostly by Ranger are outstanding and perform well each and every time you use them.

The weather here is just gorgeous after a week of absolutely drenching rain.  My mums took a hit and their stems are so brittle anyway.  The rain just beat them down.  So I cut them back and brought in armfuls to put in vases and give away.  They last a long time.  It's almost time to put the garden to bed for the winter.....at least what I am able to do.  I love this time of the year.  Mr. Primitive Seasons and I celebrated 46 years yesterday with a day of antiquing and dinner at Outback.  Primo!

Is There a Song for Halloween?

If there is, these pumpkins are getting it on!  Directed by Sir Cat this choral group is making the most of Halloween!  This is my second post for Prickley Pear.  The stamp is called Conducting the Orchestra (#hh0139).  The image was colored with Copic markers.  I framed it out with some banner type pieces of scrap behind it.  Then I added a Joleene's halloween skeleton 3D head with his cute little hat. Prickly Pear has some new christmas things in and they are showing some beautiful cards there.  Be sure to take a look!

PS:  I apologize for being so late posting this.  Today was my 46th wedding anniversary and we went antiquing and then had a great dinner at Outback.  I need a nap now!   See you next week!

Autumn With Prickly Pear Stamps

Today is my debut as a designer for Prickly Pear Stamps.  They feature both clear stamps as well as red rubber traditional stamps.  They also have dies to match many of their stamps.  I used the Fall Leaves and Die set to make this fall card.  The sentiment came from the same set.  The leaves were colored with Copic Markers and popped up with dimensionals.  This was a lot of fun to color and arrange. Be sure to visit their blog at http://www.prickleypearrubberstamps.blogspot.com/ to see all the new designs which were posted.  Their store link is on the same page.  Enjoy your week!
